• Not respecting the established circuits and routes.
• Outpatient commerce in the monument and surrounding areas up to Puente Ruinas.
• Perform overflights with paragliders, drones or any type of smaller ship.
• Performing acts or entering with prohibited objects on this list will generate the immediate expulsion of the visitor without the right to reimbursement and the initiation of the corresponding legal actions. The park rangers of the Ministry of Culture and the agents of the National Police are the authority inside the monument.

Sanitary protocol

The measures established by the sanitary protocol require that all visitors must wear a mask when entering and during their entire stay in the Inca citadel, as well as carry the affidavit of health in print or in digital format on their mobile phone.

This is followed by taking the body temperature of tourists. Those who present 38 ° C or more cannot enter the Inca citadel. If any symptoms associated with covid-19 are identified, the suspect will be isolated in the isolation area and the event will immediately be reported to the competent authority.

Before starting the tour, it is necessary to disinfect the footwear and personal equipment of the visitors, as well as hand hygiene.

During the tour of the citadel, tourists must maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 meters between each person. Food consumption is not allowed during the visit.

Visitors are prohibited from collecting or collecting archaeological or natural material, as well as touching the surfaces of the archaeological walls, as established in the "Regulation of sustainable use and tourist visit for the conservation of the citadel of Machu Picchu".

Schedule of entry

During the validity of the health emergency, the daily tourist visit schedule to Machu Picchu begins at 6:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m.

According to the Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Cusco, there are nine time ranges for the entry of visitors to the citadel of Machu Picchu, the first time range being from 06:00 to 07:00 hours and the last from 14:00 to 15 : 00 hours.

Visitors must board the bus that transfers from Machu Picchu Pueblo to the citadel with a maximum of 30 minutes prior to the time range that appears on their respective entrance tickets.

Tourist circuits

The circuits for the tourist visit in the Inca citadel are unidirectional and there are four defined circuits.

• Long Low Circuit. It implies the entrance through the Qolqas sector, terraces adjacent to the Dry Moat (general explanation area), Casa del Inca, Llamakancha, Sacred Rock, Eastern Qolqas and the exit is through the lower terrace.

From the reopening until further notice, the visiting hours to the Intihuatana and Templo del Cóndor complexes will not govern, while the Temple of the Sun complex will not be available for tourist visits.
