As of January 15, 2024, the Ministry of Culture has officially announced the launch of the new ticket sales website, tuboleto.cultura.pe, in collaboration with Joinnus. This private company will now oversee the sales for Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail.
The previous ticket reservation system, www.machupicchu.gob.pe, will remain operational until January 19, 2024. After this date, the management will transition to the hands of the private company Joinnus, introducing a new reservation system called TUBOLETOCULTURAPE

Residents of Cusco and travel agencies fear potential future impacts on ticket costs. Historical precedence, such as the high costs associated with privatized services like the train to Machu Picchu, raises concerns among agencies and operators about the lack of preferential pricing.
