Pimentel beach is a quiet and peaceful place; It presents an intertidal phase of 100 m to 80 m of land, with low hills between 2 to 3 m. In 1912, the government granted the Sociedad Agrícola Pomalca the concession to build a pier for boats and a railway connecting Pimentel with the Pomalca estate. The inauguration of the pier was a memorable event, where the locomotive that linked the port of Pimentel with the capital of Lambayeque was activated for the first time.

 

The inhabitants of Chiclayo and Lambayeque celebrated with enthusiasm this symbol of progress, attended by local authorities who joined the people to commemorate this milestone. Pimentel, with its new pier, became a strategic port that directly received ships from the United States, Europe, Japan, and other countries, facilitating the reception of cargo without the need for transshipment.

 

Playa Pimentel

 

Currently, the pier has been refurbished and is intended for the tourism sector, being used for pedestrian traffic and line fishing by visitors. Additionally, fishermen can be seen daily carrying out their tasks of unloading and transporting their hydrobiological products.

 

Giant Bird Theme Park

The Ostrich Farm in Pimentel, located 3 km north of the district of Pimentel, in the rural sector of Valdera, 300 meters from the sea; is one of the most visited attractions in Chiclayo, where tourists and students from different departments of Peru come to observe these gigantic birds.

 

In this place, there are more than 30 species of emus and ostriches, and inside there is a museum of giant bird eggs. Also, in this giant bird theme park, around 200 birds are bred, including ostriches, rheas, and emus; on the other hand, this Theme Park is open 365 days a year from nine in the morning to six in the afternoon and its prices range from S/. 10 for adults to S/. 6 for children.

In Caleta Santa Rosa you can enjoy an ancestral activity from Peru.
