The beautiful beaches are one of the tourist resources that the district of Ocucaje (Ica) has and within them a very special one is the beach of Punta Lomitas.

 

Located 63 km from the capital of the district of Ocucaje, is the famous arch of Punta Lomitas, distinctive that gives the entrance to a tremendous beach. This beach has various attractions inside, arches, caves, arcades and rocks where you can find a wide variety of fish and shellfish.

 

This place is difficult to access, but the beautiful beach of Punta Lomitas is worth it. It hides landscapes that seem to come out of a surreal painting, among which are dunes, tunnels, caves and rock formations that offer us the most bizarre landscape at the seashore.

 

This peaceful and beautiful beach also has beautiful and spectacular sea lions that come out to the shore during mating times to offer a wonderful show.

 

In the waters of this beach, the finest fish species in the world are extracted, such as cojinova, sole, corvina, among others.

 

How to get?

From Ica you must head south towards Ocucaje. From there, take the trail for a little over two hours (60 kilometers) until you reach Punta Lomitas.

 

Tourist Sites in Ica

The city of Ica is known for having various places to visit both during the day and at night. one of them is the beautiful Plaza de Armas, which is one of the oldest architectural structures that remain within the City.

 

And not only that, around the Plaza, we find the Cathedral of the Region or as its residents call it, The Cathedral of Ica. This was an 18th century construction, which suffered some damage due to the earthquake that occurred in 2012.

Name.

 

The Cave Beach

Another of the most famous beaches is La Cueva. This is located in the province of Ica in the region that responds to the same name. It is located 335 kilometers from Lima and 57 kilometers from the Panamericana. It has a latitude of -14.7848 and a longitude of -75.7303.

 

Punta Lomitas Beach

One of the beaches that you cannot miss is Punta Lomitas. Located in the Region of Ica in the province that responds to the same name. It is located 335 kilometers from Lima; and 60 kilometers from the Panamericana. It has a latitude of -14.7129 with a longitude of -75.8491.

 

Los Lobos Beach

And finally, there is Playa Los Lobos. Located in the region of Ica in the province that responds to the same name. It is located 340 kilometers from Lima, and 70 kilometers from the Panamericana. It has a latitude of -14.8048 and a longitude of -75.698.

 

How to get to Ica from Lima?

If you are in Lima and want to get to Ica, you can do it by land through a bus that will only take between 4 and 5 hours. The passage is stipulated in S/40.00. Once you have arrived in Ica, the journey to Huacachina takes only 10 minutes by taxi and will only cost you S/10.00.
